At Ancient Corinth with Bro. Vanaman
Date 7/11/1989
The picture was taken in November 1989, when the Athens Baptist Church had the joy and privilege to have Bros. Paul and Tim Vanaman visit it. Bro. Vanaman, in his capacity as President of B.E.M.A., was on a tour to encourage gospel workers in a number of countries in Europe and the Middle East. To me he was a great encouragement and blessing, as was to the church with his anointed preaching. In the photo we are at BEMA in the ruins of Ancient Corinth, the Court where the Jews brought Paul before Gallio, the Roman deputy of Achaia, to have him condemned. Gallio, however, realizing that the matter was not falling within his competence, dismissed the case, thus giving Paul the opportunity to stay in town a year and a half in all, and win many souls to Christ, resulting in the establishment of a flourishing church.
