A New Testament Church gives emphasis to Preaching and Teaching. Paul uses the Greek word kerygma in reference to the preaching of the gospel to sinners, whereas for the believers the word didache is used. These two elements constitute the main pillars of the edifice of a true New Testament church. Unfortunately, nowadays the tendency is to either abolish althogether or drastically limit these fuctions in favor of so much else that generally hurts the church seriously, derailing it from the tracks on which Christ has placed it, and making it a mere social organization instead of a divine and living organism. The Evangelical Baptist Church in Athens, Greece, from its inception, has followed the biblical patern and by preaching and "rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2: 15) earnestly contends "for the faith (Christian truth in its totality) which was once delivered unto the saints" (Jude 3b).
