Date 28/6/1990
It is summer. The time 08 p.m. Thanks to Daylight Saving Time, the sun is still high up in the sky and shining quite brightly. The scenery beyond description.
A group of around thirty members of the Athens Baptist Church came out to the beautiful eastern coast of Attica to do something that filled their hearts with joy and made their faces radiant, that is, to have seven newly saved persons, upon having professed Christ as their own Savior, scripturally baptized. The picture shows the meeting that preceded the ordinance. Pastor Markos Boussios, addressing the group, explains from the word of God the significance of baptism. Some of the bathers a little farther are watching and listening. The meeting closed with prayer. Special mention was made of those strangers, that what they saw and heard might cause them to start on the way of seeking God and salvation for their souls, though to us they didn't say anything. The candidates, in white robes, one by one, followed Bro. Markos into the water. Baptism was performed by one immersion in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, according to the Great Commission, Matt. 28:19. To God be the glory.
