In this page you'll be seeing beautiful pictures of Greece and other countries, as well as of groups and individuals, all in connection with the Bible in one way or another, but not exclusively. We will try to keep it as up-to-date as possible and, with all our love and earnest desire, present Christ as the only Savior of man, calling for further study of the Scriptures and unbiased prayerful inquiry to the end of the salvation of the reader through faith on the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. A masterpiece of architecture this temple, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, was dedicated to the worship of the mythological goddess Artemis (Latin:Diana). Paul and his company of co-workers in the gospel visited Ephesus, where this temple was, twice, and God used him mightily so that a great number of people, of all walks of life, came out of the darkness of idolatry into the light of the truth, that is, Christ the Lord. They professed faith in Him as their Savior, were baptized and joined together by the Spirit of God formed the well-known church of Ephesus, which, for centuries was the cradle of many ministers and gospel workers. However, the devil wouldn't let Christ's servant go on gaining ground on his realm and, using Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, and brought "no small gain unto the craftsmen...", stirred up the people, caused a great commotion in the city, and thus endangered Paul's life. So, Paul left Ephesus going to Macedonia, leaving behind him a great and fruitful tree, a burning fire, a great church that, as a lighthouse, sent the light, the blessed light of the glorious gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes, far and near for the glory of God. Amen.

There are some landscapes, handiwork of God, that none, even an accomplished and famous writer, could find words to describe. Have a good look at this one. Fancy it all around. What beauty! What grandeur! If this world has such wonders, what will the one to come have! The Spirit of God, in dictating the Bible to the holy men chosen for the work, and in His wish to describe the new earth and the heavenly Jerusalem that is going to be the city of the redeemed of Christ for ever and ever, used human language and human symbols, such as colors, precious metals, like gold, rivers and trees, and a number of precious stones, most of which are unknown to mankind as a whole. Visitor of this site and reader of this note, don't you see the hand of the great Architect behind it? If yes, join with David in saying: "I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands." (Ps. 143:5), and remember, God's greatest work of all was the offering of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ on Calvary, that "Whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). Blessed be His name for ever!

This is another beautiful picture of Greece. The place is on the northwest cost of the country, and the sea the Ionian. God's works are great and marvelous. The heart of the unprejudiced viewer fills with wonder and awe! Man is part of God's universe. His Creator endowed him with creative abilities, so that he has, unfortunately, thought they are his own achievements, being thus led to the point of denying the existence of God. We agree that man is, in a sense, himself a creator, too, and does great and marvelous works. But, the question is, with what material? God made the heaven and the earth either out of nothing, or out of Himself. Man, where does he find the material for his works? The answer is only one: in God's nature. Viewer of this beautiful picture and reader of this note, think soberly on the matter, marvel at God's great works "and be not faithless, but believing" (John 20:27b).

Thessalonica, now known as Salonika, capital of the province of Macedonia, is located at the head of the Gulf of Salonika. It is the principal seaport of southeast Europe. It is about 100 miles southwest of Philippi on the Egnatian Way which connected Rome with the cities of northern Greece. The city has a population of about 1,000,000 inhabitants. It was named by Cassander after his wife who was a half sister of Alexander the Great. The Christian church was founded by Paul after he left Philippi (Acts 17:1-9). Here, in the synagogue of the Jews he preached for some three weeks. Some Jews, many Greeks and a good number of "the chief women" believed. However the Jews who did not believe influenced a base element to stir up a great disorder. They assaulted the house of Jason where the apostle was staying. They accused Paul and his company of disloyalty to Caesar, of "saying that there is another king, one Jesus." It was here that the well-known expression, "They that have turned the world upside down are come hither also," was said. Paul was immediately sent by the brethren away from the city. He proceeded to Berea. Paul probably visited Thessalonica again, perhaps twice (Acts 20:1-4). He addressed the earliest of his epistles to the church here.

The picture is certainly beautiful. It shows one of the many spas Greece is endowed with. Here people come, according to doctors' advice, to have mineral therapeutical baths. But that is not the purpose for which we placed this picture here. It is rather to refer on the one hand to Bethesda and Siloam, which by God's merciful intervention seem to have been something similar, and on the other to point to Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood shed on the cross of Calvary, heals and cleanses all those that believe on Him and accept Him as their own personal Savior from all sins and gives them salvation and eternal life!
